The CEO of JobPIN, Tiffeney Johnson-Hobbs is a native of Washington, DC. She grew up in Ward 8, one of the most impoverished neighborhoods in the city. At the age of 10, she moved to New Jersey and boldly walked through the doors that changed her life. She is proof that "great things come out of Southeast!"
After obtaining her master’s degree, Ms. Johnson-Hobbs moved back to her native city to become part of the change she wanted to see. She is an innovative and results-driven leader with more than 18 years of combined education and professional experience managing federal, state and local proposal development and providing Information Technology (IT) project management support.
Over time, Ms. Johnson-Hobbs’ purpose has evolved. She wants to impact change by strengthening underserved communities.
For Mrs. Johnson-Hobbs, impacting change starts with making sure everyone has access to the tools, mentoring, and training needed to become more marketable in today’s job market. JobPIN's strategies blend the art of proposal writing and the tenets of marketing/branding to help clients discover and sell their value. Her long-term vision is to build the JobPIN Institute, an organization that will breed a succession of innovative and problem-solving professionals through strategic mentoring, business etiquette classes, focused curricula and sustainable learning. Our students will discover how to market themselves, evolve in the midst of change and create opportunities to thrive in the workforce.
The JobPIN Institute will also create networking opportunities and mastermind alliances between leaders in education, government and business to better understand, prepare and effectively utilize the workforce of our future. The vision for JobPIN began in 2010 after Mrs. Johnson-Hobbs found herself unemployed and struggling to find a job. Mrs. Johnson-Hobbs applied for more than 150 job vacancies (83 federal applications), participated in 55+ job interviews, and has been rejected more than 100 times.
She has spent the last decade, working to understand the career development industry, employment trends, and the impact that technology continues to have in shaping tomorrow’s workforce. She has over 12 years of experience working in this arena, and she understands the needs of the jobseeker at a granular level. Mrs. Johnson-Hobbs developed a strategy for navigating the job market and began teaching it to others.
Now, she wants to teach that strategy to the world. Her measuring stick for success can be described with one word: Results.
